The average number of workers employed in the industry was 5.54 million, a decrease of 2.3% over the same period of the previous year.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, the prosperity index of my country's textile industry was 62.3, an increase of 3.6 percentage points from the third quarter. Factors such as the National Day holiday, the "Double Eleven" e-commerce promotion, and the promotion of Chinese New Year commodities have driven the continuous recovery of the consumer market. In terms of production, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above the designated size in 2021 will increase by 4.4% year on year, an increase of 7 percentage points from 2020.

From the perspective of subdivided product production, in 2021, the output of the chemical fiber, yarn, cloth, and clothing of textile enterprises above the designated size will increase by 9.1%, 8.4%, 7.5%, and 8.4% respectively year-on-year.

In 2021, my country's textile and apparel exports will reach US$315.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.4% and a record high. Among them, textile exports were US$145.2 billion, down 5.6% year-on-year; apparel exports were US$170.3 billion, up 24% year-on-year.

On the whole, in 2021, the prosperity of my country's textile industry will improve, production and demand will recover, and product exports will hit a new high. The overall operation of the industry is stable.
